the mourning fog banked on the canal street the ferry blew the horn a mournful tune

as the rain dripped from the palm tree leaves the sidewalk slick the Casino and other Barr dwellers get ousted  to the street a real Canal now the bricks will not support so many boots they slide in a cartoon effort to produce action

last night the girl was so beautiful the man  who left her must be a snake like creature

she cried into her phone please help me eye just do not want to be out here he left me

the girlfriend will take her inside

eye hope she is happy now

eye come and go and notice all the problems the winoes laying down the bums begging the Hippies also beg for money from the rich Conventionears are deaf they rule with Microsoft most of them are lame

they must be clumsy so many crutches and poor feet

the skaters were too many they had a cardboard roll the kind of thing the store had discarded near the trash eye sized up the situation people on the sidewalk could not walk past the dear little Tykes skating on the jumping boards ruling all the gentle feet jumping is to them the only thing

the people clapped and cheered and called my name Saint Charles Street must be nearby

eye grabbed the cardboard obstacle and exclaimed to all the boys leave this thing where its supposed to be and left it near the trash only to look behind me they already had it back they do not listen to the elders they play they jump they smoke ar such an early age those Tykes

for they are only boys they want to jump those boards

supper was fishy

there was rebels with real rebel hats and the women had country dresses

the university students three boys one girl all dressed in purple and gold when eye said you must be from LSU they smiled and said OLD MAN you got that one right
