BRICK ya Hod

BRICK ya Hod

The bricklayer looked down the scaffold at the hod holderer the new man was looking up expectantly his face was boyish his want was only to please this new boss man oh please there was a time in your pasture that all of you were just like this young worker. Its easy he told the boy smiling when he said this to him fill the HOD with the mortar hand it up when eye say mortar. I will say it twice more then eye will say Brick then you lay down the Hod and hand me up a brick. The boy looked down between the Hod and the brick and the layer knew now that he had him a winner a real Crackerjack is what they call them. And so they began to block up the wall. Block by block brick by brick hod by fullish hod they inched. The boss yelling down mortar the boy handing up hod full. Then is when it finally happened. The man yelled mortar only twice then he yelled brick in the young workers face was so confused that he handed up the third tray of mortar in the HOD without even thinking he was so now used to it. Uncharacteristically the man frowned down and dropped his level tool on the ground. It bounced once to signify the sound of the boy his mistake was self evident on his young face was a frown reminiscient of little Crackerjack Horner. Oh Sir whay did you say brick after only two hod fulls ? The old man slicked back his combover smiled down at the boy and he frowned. All he said to this gentleboy now. "Corner."
