WagonTongue

WagonTongue
He was much smaller then the other men and Englishman not able or just not willing some said to sit a horse. He putt an English Saddle on the wagon tongue. A fork embedded in the handle to hold on to that wagon tongue where it forks. The drovers of this wagon trained the laughter around the fireside at this little Englishman they laughed and called him wagging tongue man. He burned. He marked each and every Cowboy there that laughed at him remembered them for hate had filled his hat brimmed over at them there at night. FInally he noticed one who sat there all alone. No laughter formed at all at him from his Stoney Lipps was only half a smile. He shrugged the proffered hand away would not take the handed shake or grip but sat there offering up none. Tell me your story said the WagonTongue eye really want to get to knoe you? "JAIL", said Stoney Lipps and that was all he would. One day the cattle crossing at the River raged around the men as WagonTongue was lifted from his SIdeSaddled perch by this much stronger Stoney Lipps had pushed his Horse hard in the currant to save this little Englishman just before the water took his wagon tongue down to the depths. His hand still held the forked handle for he had gripped in fear. The WagonTongue now gone with everything he owned and loaned was water logged. Stoney Lipps took out his blanket from his roll ripped it down the middle to share with his new friend. They both slept warmed and back to back till daylight came again. One more River left to Cross One more River left to swim, One more River in the way of Travellers and men.
